Adam Mayfield's (Scott Chandler) time in Pine Valley comes to a close this week, and, in a recently released interview, the actor took a look back at his All My Children run.
"I learned a lot and got lots of training under my belt," Mayfield told ABC Soaps In Depth. The actor also noted that working with Jacob Young (JR Chandler) and David Canary (Adam Chandler) was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him.
However, the actor admitted that some of his storylines were perplexing, because he found it hard to relate to them.
"It's tough, because I disagreed with so many things," Mayfield candidly admitted to the magazine. "I never thought Scott should be with Annie, and I never thought he should have handled the nanotech situation the way he did. My favorite days of playing Scott were when he was the conscience of the family, but at the same time, he didn't take any crap from anybody. Those were the moments I felt Scott was at his best and when Scott made the most sense to me."
Still, May field loved his yearlong run with All My Children, and wishes his successor, Daniel Cosgrove, well with the role.
"I have nothing against the show, and I mean that with all my heart," Mayfield insisted.
As previously reported, May field has already landed a post-AMC gig. Mayfield has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming indie film The Preacher's Daughter. The film co-stars Desperate Housewives' Andrea Bowen. In the film, May field plays a music minister, who is married with four kids, and has an affair with Bowen's character, the 17-year-old Hannah.
Mayfield will last air on October 15. Cosgrove, meanwhile, will first air sometime in December.
Mayfield's entire interview with Soaps In Depth will appear in the issue on newsstands on November 1.
