While there is still no word on Susan Lucci's (Erica Kane) participation in the web-based All My Children, the Emmy-winning actress has reached a deal for her first post-AMC acting job.
TVLine has revealed that Lucci will appear in the upcoming sixth season of the Lifetime drama series, Army Wives. The move will reunite Lucci with former All My Children star Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny Gardner).
"The suds queen will play the wife of a retired general who gives Delaney's Claudia valuable advice on how to deal with a potential rival," TVLine reported.
That rival will be played by Kelli Williams, who has appeared on The Practice and, most recently, FOX's Lie to Me.
As first reported last month by Soap Central, Lucci has not ruled out a possible continuation with All My Children once it moves to the Internet, but talks have apparently slowed.
"I would love to [continue with All My Children] and we are trying as we speak to work that out, and I'm just waiting for a response at this moment," Lucci said in a visit to NPR.
It is not clear how many episodes of Army Wives Lucci will appear in, but a source states that it will be "at least two." A start date for the new season of the series has not yet been announced.
