All My Children's Erica Kane made a splash with her life guide, Having It All, and former Pine Valley powerhouse Chrishell Stause (ex-Amanda Dillon, All My Children; ex-Jordan Ridgeway, Days of our Lives; ex-Bethany Bryant, The Young and the Restless) has taken a page from the soap queen's book and is about to debut her own literary masterpiece.
The fan-favorite actress, who is now a national sensation as part of the Netflix reality show Selling Sunset, has announced that she will be debuting her first book, a memoir titled Under Construction: Because Living My Best Life Took a Little Work.
"I have always loved writing and it is an honor to be able to tell my story in this way," Stause tells People of her memoir. "I've had such a crazy life journey and in the process of finding my voice, I'm hopeful I can inspire others along the way as well."
Set to be released in February of 2022 by Simon & Schuster's Gallery Books, Under Construction goes in-depth into Stause's Kentucky upbringing, which included periods of homelessness and addiction within the family. The actress also shares a lot of insight about achieving her dream of being on a daytime soap, details about her highly publicized love life and high-profile divorce from Justin Hartley (ex-Adam Newman, Y&R; ex-Fox Crane, Passions), how she dealt with the death of both of her parents to lung cancer, and advice on "how to stay resilient and positive no matter how many times life knocks you down."
The book's official description teases that Stause will also take readers behind the scenes of Selling Sunset and will reveal never-before-told stories from her life in soap operas. Stause got her daytime start as All My Children's Amanda Dillon in 2005 and remained with the ABC soap through its final episode in September 2011. A couple of years later, she popped up on DAYS as Jordan Ridgeway and remained in Salem through 2015. She then appeared briefly on The Young and the Restless as Bethany Bryant in 2016 before returning to DAYS in 2019, where she's played Jordan on-again, off-again since then. She joined the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset in 2019 and competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2020.
Stause first announced the news of her upcoming memoir on Instagram, sharing, "I'm SO excited to announce my book UNDER CONSTRUCTION is coming out on February 8, 2022 from @GalleryBooks!
