A Martinez is returning to daytime television. The multi-soap vet will join the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in February.
TVGuide Magazine's Michael Logan is reporting that Martinez will appear in a "guest stint" as Dr. Ramon Montgomery. Ramon "will be introduced as a close friend and personal physician to wily Bill Spencer, who has a big mess on his hands."
Martinez began his daytime career on Santa Barbara in the iconic role of Cruz Castillo. Martinez spent eight years on Santa Barbara. After a successful run on the primetime series L.A. Law and guest spots on other primetime shows, Martinez returned to daytime in 1999 as Roy DiLucca on General Hospital. Martinez remained in Port Charles for three years. He then appeared on One Life to Live for several months in 2008 and 2009. Despite having incredible on-screen chemistry with OLTL's Robin Strasser (Dorian Lord), Martinez's character was written out and has not returned.
On January 29, Martinez will appear in the Syfy original movie Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, which also stars former pop stars Tiffany and Deborah Gibson.
In addition to his television work, Martinez recently completed filming an independent film called California Winter.
For now, Martinez's time on B&B is scheduled as a four-day run. That, however, could change. TVGuide spoke to B&B's Emmy-winning executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell, who commented, "I've admired A's acting for years and he is as good as it gets. I look forward to seeing what he brings to the role."
Martinez debuts on February 9.
