Fans won't be seeing Kristolyn Lloyd (Dayzee Leigh) on The Bold and the Beautiful in the near future. The actress has taken some time off from the CBS soap to hit the stage in a new musical.

Kristolyn Lloyd (Dayzee Leigh) will be pulling double acting duty in the coming months. The actress will remain on recurring status with The Bold and the Beautiful, but starting June 9, 2014, she'll also be taking on the character of Heather Duke in the off-Broadway production of Heathers: The Musical.

Heathers: The Musical, which was recently listed as one of INNewYork.com's "10 Must See Musicals," is the story of a teenage misfit who gains entry into the most popular and ruthless clique at her high school, the Heathers. Lloyd plays a member of that clique, Heather Duke. The role was originally played by Shannen Doherty in the 1988 film Heathers.

This won't be Lloyd's first time as Heather Duke. She also played the character in the Hudson Theatre production of the musical in Los Angeles in 2013 and enjoyed putting her own spin on the iconic role. She says she chose to take her Heather in a different direction than Doherty's.

"Heather Duke was interesting because you have to decide whether she's going to be absolutely mean and the audience will just hate her, or if you're going to make her a little crazy, something that people can laugh at. I decided I was going to make her a little crazy," Lloyd told Soap Opera Digest of her take on the character.

Lloyd has been playing Dayzee on B&B since 2010 when the then-homeless teen helped convince Stephanie Forrester to undergo cancer treatment. In return, Stephanie purchased Insomnia Café and renamed it Dayzee's Coffee Shop, giving it to Dayzee to run with the intent that it provide employment for the homeless. Earlier this year, Lloyd bid adieu to Los Angeles to head east for a role in the musical Witness Uganda.
