Five-time Emmy Award-winning actress Heather Tom (Katie Logan, The Bold and the Beautiful) has shown the world she can act, and now she's showing the world that she has other entertainment-related talents, as well: she directed Tuesday's episode of the globe's most watched daytime drama.
"I LOVE sitting on a bed while a beautiful woman calls the shots!! Brava, Heather!" tweeted John McCook (Eric Forrester) of the actress' directorial debut.
Fan reaction following the broadcast of the episode included lots of praise, with one fan suggesting it would have been hilarious for Tom to direct an episode of Bill (Don Diamont) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) cheating and another wondering if the actress plans to do more directing in the future.
"I'd be open to directing anything on daytime," Tom answered. "[And] let's not count out nighttime!"
Meanwhile, it seems there's a bit of a trend taking place when it comes to women in daytime sitting in the director's chair. Susan Flannery (ex-Stephanie Forrester) has directed episodes of B&B, Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, Days of our Lives) has directed episodes of General Hospital, GH's Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) has directed films like The Bet and Byrd and the Bees, and Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio, GH) has directed shows like Pretty Little Liars and KC Undercover.
