The Bold and the Beautiful needed to cast someone for the role of a Forrester Creations executive, and they shot for a touchdown by casting NFL pro Akbar Gbajabiamila. The California native will be appearing as a new suit named Max on Tuesday, January 18.
Though this is Gbajabiamila's first gig on a soap opera, he should be very familiar with the daytime world, having joined season 12 of CBS's The Talk as a co-host in September of last year.
In appearing on B&B, Gbajabiamila follows The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood, who occasionally pops in as Bill Spencer's (Don Diamont) friend, Emmy.
Gbajabiamila began his career playing football at San Diego State University before he was signed into the NFL as an undrafted free agent by the Oakland Raiders in 2003. He went on to play for the San Diego Chargers in 2006 and the Miami Dolphin in 2007. He briefly returned to the Raiders in 2008 but did not appear in a game and was released before the start of the season.
With his playing career over, Gbajabiamila turned his focus to the broadcast booth, serving as an analyst for the Mtn. Network and CBS Sports Network for two years. He went on to become a host for NFL Fantasy Live and Team Ninja Warrior before joining The Talk in September of 2021.
