Viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful are still reeling from last week's jaw-dropping scenes in which Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) shot her own son Finn (Tanner Novlan), which has left Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) a widow and a single mother. Fans can't believe that Steffy's fairy-tale man is no longer on the canvas, but executive producer and head writer Brad Bell reveals that there is a lot more to the story.
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Bell shares that letting Novlan go and closing the book on Finn wasn't an easy choice.
"It's very difficult to make that decision. I loved working with Tanner, and he and Steffy made an incredible couple," he says. "But, the decision was made, and Steffy has some new adventures lying ahead."
In typical executive producer fashion, Bell does not reveal exactly what he has planned for Ridge and Taylor's daughter. But he does tease that it involves matters of the heart -- once she recovers from her own injuries, of course.
"It will be a sad chapter, and then, out of the darkness comes the light," he shares. "Though it's a time of mourning for Steffy, a romance is in her future - something that's quite unexpected."
It's too early to tell whose arms Steffy might find herself in now that she's facing a life without Finn. Some fans think B&B might be planning to reignite the Steffy/Liam/Hope triangle, others want something fresh for the character, while others still have their fingers crossed that Finn will somehow be resurrected.
