Diana Carter was the presumed daughter of Sheila Carter, whose crimes against the Forrester fashion dynasty included kidnapping heir apparent Ridge Forrester during his honeymoon in Puerto Vista, South America. Sheila had briefly dated Ridge's biological father, Massimo Marone, in Los Angeles; when Massimo arrived to rescue Ridge, Sheila used Diana as a human shield and told Massimo that Diana was their daughter. Massimo got Diana away from Sheila, but when Sheila was about to be apprehended, Sheila grabbed Diana and escaped. Diana has not been seen or mentioned since 2003, and it was never confirmed that Diana was Massimo's daughter, or, for that matter, Sheila's.
