Days of our Lives will lose another of its talented, young male stars later this year.
According to a rep, Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip Kiriakis) will exit Days of our Lives when his contract expires in November. A spokesperson for the show declined to comment on the report.
Johnson is said to have an interest in pursuing a career in motion pictures. Unlike some stars who leave daytime to seek out roles, Johnson apparently had already landed a part in a film. According to a published report, Johnson was offered a role in a featured film, but DAYS execs could not allow him a temporary leave from the show in order to shoot his part in the film.
The departure could spell disaster for fans of Philip and girlfriend Chloe, known as "Phloe" to Internet fans. A DAYS spokesperson declined to comment on the rumors.
Johnson joined the cast of DAYS in 1999.
