Days of our Lives will celebrate its golden anniversary in just a few short months, and while the show has promised some magnificent happenings ahead, the NBC soap's cast members have their fingers crossed for their own personal birthday dreams. Just what do stars like Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans) and Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) hope to see for DAYS' big 50th anniversary? Read on to find out!
Jen Lilley (Theresa Donovan)
I think they should bring Kim [Patsy Pease] and Shayne [Charles Shaughnessy] back at the same time, because I love them. I love Patsy Pease, and Charles is amazing. And they really want to be here, so I think they should come back. And I also think they should highlight veterans, you know? And I also think that Dr. Drake Ramoray [Matt LeBlanc] should come back. And Brooke Shields could come be a crazy fan!
Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts)
For DAYS' 50th, I would hope that someone would throw us an enormous party where we could have as many fans as possible come and all just have a great big celebration. It would be fantastic.
Peter Reckell (Bo Brady)
I think we've already got it: we've got a team there now, with the changing of the guard with the writers and producers, and this team that is in place right now, I think we've gotten our wish. The 50th anniversary will show what the show has been over the years.

My wish [is happening]: I thought Bo should return for just a moment, that Bo should show up. And he is!
Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Horton)
I want it to be a surprise! I'm surprised that we're here. 50 years is a long time. So I'm real happy, and I'm happy I'm here. I hope there are a lot of flashbacks of the people on the show that we have lost, and people who were on the show that have left the show and gone on to other shows. But I think all the wonderful romance that we used to have on the show, that's what's lovely about the show, anyway, and that's what the fans are always saying, anyway, "There's not enough, there's not enough!" So I think it would nice to see it again. And I'm sure it's going to bring some welling up of tears for the people who are no longer with us, but it's all what makes the 50 years the 50 years, and we all miss them. We miss them in our own way, and we all remember the little things that they used to do with us, and the things they used to do for us. It's going to be very emotional, I think. And I think it'll be fun, because there will be a party probably, and that's nice, that pat on the back for all of us.
Kassie DePaiva (Eve Donovan)
It's just really wonderful to be a part of a show that has lasted this long. I joined The Guiding Light when they were celebrating their 25th back in 1987, and I was at One Life to Live when we were celebrating our 45th, so this is kind of going to be similar. It's just really nice, and I still pinch myself because I can't believe I've had a career doing this in a genre that I love so much.
Peggy McKay (Caroline Brady)
Well, I'd like to see our show renewed and carried on. Ken Corday is a wonderful producer, and he's been wonderful to us, so I wish the show a long life. That's what I wish.
True O'Brien (Paige Donovan)
I'd like to see more stuff with my family. That would be interesting. It would be so awesome if Patsy Pease [Kim] and Charles Shaughnessy [Shayne] could come back. I'd be so down! When I found out [Shaughnessy was from The Nanny], I was like, "Oh my God, I'm his granddaughter on the show!" I was freaking out. He's so funny. I even watched him on a Disney channel movie when I was a kid. I was a Disney Channel freak when I was a youngster, so that made it even more cool to me.

Francis Reid [Alice Horton] would be fantastic, if I could wish for anything. But you know what I would like to see? I would like to see flashbacks where they actually use the clips and [explain] how they're relevant to what's happening today... how choices that are made in the past affect the future and what's happening now. It would have to be really savvy writing, but to weave that into the canvas of what's going on today and how those choices have affected characters' lives today would be great. It's the Back to the Future thing, where if you change just one thing, life would be different. For example, when J.J. [Casey Moss] and Abigail [Kate Mansi] were born. If you go back to Jennifer [Melissa Reeves] thinking about when she had a baby with Jack [Matthew Ashford] and you literally see it, like a flashback of when they're holding those babies, and then you see her struggling with her son, like, "Oh, my God!" And really, you honor the fans that have been around for that long, and they have been around for 50 years. I see them in every city I go to. To weave that in to how those choices affected today would be brilliant.

It's no mystery that the winds of change are blowing through these hallways: changes in writing, changes in captains, just changes in general. So I think the biggest priority they have on their mind is to make this show the best that it can be. I think that trumps balloons, I think it trumps parties. I think the biggest conquest is to bring DAYS back to the top, and they want to make it the best show it can possibly be. And I think for everyone involved, there wouldn't be a better birthday present in the world than to take Days of our Lives back to its [former glory].
