The latest casting news from Days of our Lives will be music to American Idol fans' ears: Thia Megia, who competed on the reality singing show back in 2011, has joined the NBC soap opera as a new character named Haley Chen.
Most of the details surrounding the Filipino-American singer's role are being kept under wraps at this time, but the show's new app reports that Haley is a nurse who gains the attention of legacy character J.J. Deveraux (Casey Moss).
Megia took to Instagram with news of her casting. "Salem, here I come!" she wrote. "I am so blessed to be a part of the DOOL fam and I can't wait for you to join me on my journey as Haley Chen on Days of Our Lives."
Megia finished in the top eleven of the tenth season of American Idol. Fans may also recognize the California native from shows like Showtime at the Apollo, Pop Music High, Tails of the Blue, Totally TV, and A Scary Sleepover.
The singer's first DAYS airdate has yet to be released -- only that it will happen before the calendar flips over to 2019. So, keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come.
