Olivia Rose Keegan, who recently wrapped up her time as Days of our Lives' Claire Brady and currently stars on the digital soap The Bay, is heading to primetime. The young actress has landed a guest-starring role on All American.
The CW series follows a high school football team in Beverly Hills that recruits a South Crenshaw player named Spencer (Daniel Ezra). The move is clearly a change for him, as it means going from one of the poorest schools in the area to one of the richest -- and of course, those two worlds collide in the "other side of the tracks" storyline.
All American was inspired by the life of African American pro NFL player Spencer Paysinger, who played football at the highest level for a number of big hitters, including the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins.
Keegan is set to play a character named Emma on All American's second season, which will make its premiere on Monday, October 7. Her episode is slated to air on Monday, October 14.
States the CW about what fans can except from the second season of the series: "The return of All American finds Spencer James, now a football State Champion, with a tough decision to make. Does he stay in Beverly Hills and play for Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs)? Or does he move back home to South LA, reunite with his mother, Grace (Karimah Westbrook), brother, Dillon (Jalyn Hall), and play for his father, Corey (Chad Coleman) -- the new head coach for the South Crenshaw Chargers? This isn't an easy decision for him to make because it's not just about football. It's about choosing between the people he loves."
The synopsis continues: "No longer is Beverly Hills just some affluent place that represents [Spencer's] shot out of the hood. Now, he has friends there, including his antagonist turned ally, Asher (Cody Christian), who's fighting to hold on to his football dreams. He has his girlfriend there, Layla (Greta Onieogou), who's secretly battling her own demons. And most importantly, he has a second family there in the likes of the Bakers -- Billy, Laura (Monét Mazur), Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) and Olivia (Samantha Logan) -- who are struggling to adapt to the new normal of their broken home. However, when Spencer's thrown an unexpected curve ball, the fallout to his life will end up affecting everyone he holds dear, including his best friend, Coop (Bre-Z), who's trying to take control of her life by stepping back from gangs and pursuing her musical dreams."
At this time, there's no additional information about Keegan's role in the series.
DAYS hired the actress as Belle and Shawn's musically inclined daughter in 2015, when the fictional teen moved back to Salem from Hong Kong. Keegan's résumé prior to soap operas includes guest-starring appearances on shows like Modern Family, The Thundermans, Little Shrink, and Growing Up Fisher.
