Days of our Lives fans have enjoyed having Kate Mansi back in the role of Abigail Deveraux, but the actress has wrapped up her return stint and will soon be exiting the canvas.
The latest issue of Soap Opera Digest reports that Mansi will be checking out of Salem sometime this month -- but no specific final airdate for the actress has been announced. Storyline details have also been kept under wraps, but rumor has it Abigail will be leaving Salem with a big bang.
This isn't the first time that DAYS fans have had to say goodbye to Mansi. She began her DAYS run in 2011 and played the role until 2016, when she decided to take her career in a different direction. The NBC soap opera chose Marci Miller as a recast for Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer's (Melissa Reeves) daughter, but when Miller unexpectedly vacated the role in 2018, Mansi returned for a brief stint to wrap up the character's storyline.
In 2019, Mansi returned to the role once again, this time for a limited series on the DOOL App that showed Abby and Chad's (Billy Flynn) life in Paris. When the online series ended, Chad and Abby returned to Salem, and fans have been enjoying storylines for the couple ever since.
At this time, it's unclear if Billy Flynn will be continuing on as DAYS' Chad, or if he will soon be exiting the canvas, as well. Flynn was very coy about his future in daytime when Soap Central spoke to him at the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards. Meanwhile, he admitted to being "on the fence" about continuing on at DAYS when he signed a new contract in 2018. However, he recently told Digital Journal that "it's always fun to be back" and that DAYS "continues to be a big part of my life." So, will he stay? Or will he go? Keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come.
Mansi is not the only leading lady to be exiting Days of our Lives in the days ahead. Stacy Haiduk's time as Kristen DiMera is coming to a close, as well.
