Soaps select their Emmy pre-nominations

In an attempt to make the Emmy nomination process more fair, this year each of the ten soaps held secret ballot votes to determine which of their stars could potentially receive Daytime Emmy nominations. The pre-nomination phase was first instituted last year and, by most accounts, it did accomplish its goal of leveling the playing field and allowing every show to be represented.
