General Hospital fans are on a high after the daytime drama took home the award for Outstanding Drama Series last night. But it seems not all is well in soap paradise.
According to a report published by Daytime Confidential, the soap and popular star Roger Howarth (Franco) are having a tough time ironing out a new deal for the actor. In fact, viewers may have to brace themselves for quite an absence from Howarth while negotiations take place.
"They haven't made a deal and the show won't be able to keep playing him until they do!" says a source.
If this sounds familiar, there's a good reason. In May 2016, ABC executive Nathan Varni took to social media to refute reports that Howarth and the GH were engaged in some unpleasant contract negotiations.
Fans may also recall a similar contract situation happened with Howarth's on-screen lover, Rebecca Herbst, back in 2016. Rumor had it Days of our Lives was waiting in the wings to snatch up the popular actress had she and GH not worked out an agreeable deal.
Representatives for GH have yet to comment on Howarth's status with the Emmy-winning ABC soap. He originally joined the show in 2012.
