A lot of soap opera fans were crestfallen when General Hospital decided to write off Rebecca (Hayden Barnes) last week, but it seems none have taken the surprising news as hard as her Port Charles cohort Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn).
The actor, whose on-screen relationship with was one of his most sizzling soap connections to date, took to Facebook with a poem titled "The Hard Goodbye" in dedication to the actress.
"Miss my friend. My partner in crime. The light at the end of the tunnel. The girl with the soulful eyes, a fighter's heart and so much damn talent it hurts," he writes. "I know the clocks will not stop; tomorrow brings a new day but the sun will seem to shine a little less bright."
The fan response was immediate, with many posting about how disappointed they are with the ABC soap's decision to let go -- especially at the height of Fayden support. Many also expressed their concern about whether or not 's exit means Easton may soon be let go, as well. At this time, his status remains the same -- but time will tell what the future holds for Finn.
After seeing Easton's poem, took to Twitter with her gratitude.
"My dear friend Michael Easton," she wrote. "He's one of a kind."
