Parting is always such sweet sorrow, and losing fan-favorite General Hospital actress Rebecca (Hayden Barnes) during the holidays was extra tough for soap opera fans. Alas, Hayden left the canvas last week, and marked the sad occasion with a message to viewers about wrapping up her time in Port Charles -- again.
The Kentucky native posted a photo of herself with her GH costar, Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn), along with the caption, "It's hard to say goodbye once.. and twice is that much harder. Then add the beautiful, sweet, magical @jophiellelove [Violet Finn] and it's heartbreaking."
She continues, "I want to thank all those @generalhospitalabc fans that show up everyday and are passionate about this show and our characters. I will miss my friend... for those like him are hard to come by... but I know our paths will cross again. Or at least one can hope."
originally joined GH in 2015 and was written out of story in 2017. Fans were delighted when the powers that be wrote her back into story this July, despite the fact that Hayden atrociously concealed from Finn that she had given birth to his daughter, Violet. What goes around comes around, however, and now Hayden is the one living without her daughter: threats from Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) forced Hayden to disappear from Port Charles, leaving Violet behind with her dad. That means the door has been left open for 's return -- which fans are hoping happens sooner rather than later.
got her start in soap operas with the role of Michelle Bauer on Guiding Light, which she played from 1995 to 1998. She went on to originate the role of All My Children's Greenlee Smythe, which she played from 1999 to 2005 and again from 2008 to 2011.
