General Hospital's deceased troublemaker Helena Cassadine is becoming a master at reaching out from the grave. Despite her demise in 2016, the ABC soap opera has managed to continue to incorporate her in various storylines, including an ominous phone call made to Peter in February of last year. As it turns out, the writers may have found yet another way to bring Helena back into the action, and she'll reportedly be appearing on viewers' screens very soon.
A fan page dedicated to portrayer Constance Towers reports that the actress will be stepping back into Helena's shoes this month to tape an appearance for an upcoming episode.
Helena Cassadine made her first appearance on GH back in 1981, with Elizabeth Taylor in the role as a guest star. Towers took on the character in a full-time capacity in 1997 and has been delighted to play the role ever since -- particularly following Helena's death five years ago.
"Even though I've died four times on the show and managed to come back, I'm appearing in everyone's nightmares. They wake up and think, 'Oh, God, I thought she was really here!' The writers keep the character alive that way, which is a very clever device," Towers shared in a 2019 interview. "I just love playing Helena, and however they write her, it's great to go back and play the character."
