While the secret-keeping skills of soap opera characters may need some improvement, Guiding Light alum Matt Bomer (ex-Ben Reade) is just now revealing an important piece of information about his personal life.
In this month's issue of Details magazine, Bomer reveals that he and his long-time partner, publicist Simon Halls, are married -- and have been married for three years. The couple has three children, six-year-old twins and an eight-year-old.
Bomer came out in 2012 while accepting an award at the Desert AIDS Project's Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.
Since wrapping up his two-year stint on Guiding Light in 2003, Bomer has managed to keep busy with a series of television and film projects. For his latest project, The Normal Heart, a TV movie adaptation of writer Larry Kramer's landmark 1985 play about the dawn of the AIDS crisis, Bomer went through an incredible metamorphosis. Bomer plays the role of Felix Turner, a gay New York Times reporter dying of AIDS. To help accurately portray the part, and under the care of a team of doctors, Bomer shed an astounding 40 pounds.
In addition to The Normal Heart, Bomer will also start work on the sixth, and presumably final, season of the hit USA series, White Collar. He's also set to return to the silver screen in the sequel to the 2012 mega-hit Magic Mike.
