Though it had been speculated for many, many months Catherine Hickland (Lindsay Rappaport) has confirmed that she will drop to recurring status when her contract expires later this month.
Hickland joined the cast of One Life to Live in May 1998 in what was to have been a one-day guest appearance. Once a major front burner character, Hickland's on-screen time has been cut dramatically in recent months. In an ironic twist, Hickland has been working every day for the past few weeks because her on-screen daughter is murdered.
Hickland is a veteran of daytime television, having appeared on the now-cancelled soaps Capitol, Loving and The City. In addition to her television roles, she has appeared on Broadway in the long-running musical, Les Miserables. In 2000, Hickland launched her own line of cosmetics, Cat Cosmetics.
In 1992, Hickland married Emmy winner Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin, All My Children).
The last day of Hickland's contract is May 8th.
