Last week, One Life to Live fans were a-twitter with the possibility that two-time Emmy winner Gina Tognoni (ex-Kelly Cramer) could be returning to One Life to Live. This week, though, those fans are singing a decidedly different tune.
As previously reported by Soap Central, Tognoni has actively been searching for her next daytime role. The actress' contract with Guiding Light expires this month and, with the CBS soap set to air its final episode in September, Tognoni has reached out to several shows about possible employment.
One Life to Live was the early frontrunner to land Tognoni, with Soap Opera Digest reporting that Tognoni's return was a done deal. Tognoni previously appeared on One Life to Live from 1995 to 2001. Talks between the two sides reportedly broke off because Tognoni was asking for too much money.
Tognoni reportedly does not want to relocate to the West Coast, which would limit her post-Guiding Light options. There are currently three other soaps that film in New York: ABC's All My Children and One Life to Live and CBS's As the World Turns. If One Life to Live is truly out of the picture, that would leave Tognoni with just two other East Coast options.
If Tognoni relents and considers heading to California, the actress is said to already have two job offers on the table. TVGuide Canada reports that Tognoni has been in talks with The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.
