One Life to Live is beefing up its cast with a handful of soap opera veterans. Three veterans of Procter & Gamble-produced soaps will find themselves in Llanview beginning this summer.
Emmy-nominated Guiding Light favorite Ron Raines (ex-Alan Spaulding) will join the cast in the role of Carl Petersen, the mysterious benefactor of Jeffrey King.
Raines appeared on Guiding Light from July 1994 through the show's final week on CBS in September 2009. During his tenure on GL, Raines was nominated for three Daytime Emmys in the Outstanding Lead Actor field, in 2003, 2004, and 2006.
Since Guiding Light's cancellation, Raines has been active in theatre and earned a 2012 Tony nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his work in Follies.
He will make his first on-air appearance on August 20.
As the World Turns alum Paolo Seganti (ex-Damian Grimaldi) has been cast as Arturo Bandini, a member of a wealthy family who is influential in the art world.
A former amateur boxer turned model turned actor, Seganti made his first ATWT appearance in 1993. He made guest appearances on the show through 2010.
Emmy-nominated Marnie Schulenberg (Alison Stewart) also joins One Life to Live. Schulenberg has been tapped as Jo Sullivan, the producer of David Vickers' reality show.
Schulenberg appeared on ATWT from 2007 through the show's conclusion in September 2010. In 2010, Schulenberg received an Outstanding Younger Actress Daytime Emmy nomination.
Seganti debuts on June 27, and Schulenberg first appears on July 23.
