Kristen Alderson has been an actress her entire life, having grown up on stage as One Life to Live's Starr Manning and later taking on the role of General Hospital's Kiki Jerome. But the Pennsylvania native, who walked away from soaps last year, stunned fans this week when she revealed on Twitter that she's making a career change and has decided to go into real estate.
"Passed the first class!" she tweeted along with a photo of a real estate test practice guide. "Class #2, here we go!"

The actress received mixed reviews over the news, with most supportive of her newfound passion but some crushed to realize that it means she might not return to daytime. However, Alderson set everyone at ease when she responded to a fan with the news that she's "still auditioning for whatever comes up."
And, as some soap fans may already know, it's not impossible to work in real estate and soap operas at the same time. Both Days of our Lives' Vincent Irrizarry (Deimos Kiriakis) and The Young and the Restless' Chrishell Stause (Bethany Bryant) work in the field. In fact, Stause took to Twitter to congratulate Alderson, writing, "Oh cool! I have my license -- you will be great at it!"
