It's a case of crossover mania once again for ABC as a former One Life to Live star returns to the ABC lineup, but this time taking on a new role on a new soap.
Susan Haskell joins the cast of Port Charles beginning April 18th. Haskell previously played Marty Saybrooke on One Life to Live. OLTL viewers know that on the day Marty married Patrick Thornhart in 1997, Patrick was shot and presumed dead by most of the citizens in Llanview. Patrick and a pregnant Marty secretly left town to go to see his family in Ireland and have not been heard from since.
This time around, Haskell will be playing Granya, the late sister of Ian and Patrick -- which presents a bit of creepiness considering that Patrick married a woman who was a dead-ringer for his sister. Granya died while undergoing an abortion. The character's death was addressed on One Life to Live.
Haskell earned the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1994. Since her departure from One Life to Live in 1997, Haskell has starred in the film Mrs. Winterbourne with Brendan Fraser and had a recurring role on the TV series JAG. She recently finished production on an independent feature called No Turning Back, which also stars Lindsay Price (ex-An-Li, All My Children; ex Michael, The Bold and the Beautiful). Haskell is also the real-life love of her past and present co-star Thorsten Kaye (Ian).
