The audio drama Bronzeville, now in its second season, takes listeners to 1940s Chicago with the help of talent like Laurence Fishburne (ex-Josh West Hall, One Life to Live), Tika Sumpter (ex-Layla Williamson, OLTL), and Obba Babatundé (ex-Julius Avant, The Bold and the Beautiful).

Soap opera fans who find themselves on the go, or who are in situations where immersing themselves in an audio world is the preferred entertainment of choice, would do well to check out Bronzeville, a classy audio drama set in 1940s Chicago.

The well-produced project, directed by Hollywood legend Laurence Fishburne (ex-Josh West Hall, One Life to Live), chronicles the lives of various residents in the neighborhood of Bronzeville as they chase the American dream, all while dealing with an underground gambling racket and plenty of racial tension.

Season one of Bronzeville starts out with Fishburne as local gangster Curtis "Eyeball" Randolph, who is helping Jesse Copeland (Omari Hardwick) run the policy empire of the Copeland family while its head, Everett Copeland (Wood Harris), is incarcerated. Larenz Tate stars as Jimmy Tillman, an ambitious foot soldier in the Copeland policy empire who has an eye on Lisa Copeland (Tika Sumpter [ex-Layla Williamson, OLTL]), the super smart and heavily protected sister of the clan.

Season two of Bronzeville, which premiered on Tuesday, March 16, sees the return of all of the above stars as well as several other names familiar to daytime fans, including Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott, The Young and the Restless), Fay Hauser (ex-Det. Salena Wylie, Y&R), Rodney Saulsberry (ex-Anthony Walker, B&B), and Kevin Brief (ex-Sheriff/Karl/TSA Agent, Days of our Lives). Stars Michael Nouri (ex-Elliot Hampton, Y&R; ex-Caleb Cortlandt, All My Children) and Obba Babatundé (ex-Julius Avant, The Bold and the Beautiful) join in during season two.

Enthuses Maitland, "I have been fortunate to be part of both seasons of this fabulous podcast done reader's theater style and directed by Laurence Fishburne. Available now! Season 2 of @bronzevilleshow is out now!"
