Jaime Ray Newman joined the cast of General Hospital in August 2001.
Jaime was torn between acting and singing, but it didn't become that big of a problem since she decided to pursue both careers. Jaime began acting at a young age and began doing theatre productions at the age of twelve. At the age of sixteen, Jaime founded Apollo Theatre Productions. She rented out a theater, hired a local director, professional actors and an entire crew to put up their first show. She was a director and a producer.
At Northwestern College, Jaime discovered that she loved jazz music and she performed in many bands. Jaime moved to Los Angeles in September 2000 and has put together her own band called, "The Jaime Newman Jazz Band."
Jaime can be seen in the movies The Violent Kind and the popular Steven Spielberg film, Catch Me If You Can. Jaime also guest-starred on The Drew Carey Show in January 2001.
