Former Days of our Lives actor Justin Gaston (ex-Ben Weston) came back onto soap fans' radar when he was recently chosen as a temporary recast for the role of The Young and the Restless' Chance Chancellor, but it's not just his unexpected return to daytime that has fans buzzing. Gaston is also a talented musician, and his new song, "Wish for You," is turning heads.
The tune was penned by Gaston and his best friend, songwriter Mylen, for the upcoming holiday film The Christmas Sitters, set to premiere on Ion Television on Sunday, December 13.
"SO EXCITED for this song," Gaston enthused on Instagram of his single, which is available now on the music streaming service of your choice.
The Christmas Sitters follows two parents who face holiday flight delays on a return trip from Europe and accidentally double-book incompatible babysitters -- the mother's BFF lawyer friend, Nora, and the dad's guitarist half-brother, Max -- to look after their two kids and dog. Check out a teaser trailer below.
Though known to soap fans for his time on DAYS and Y&R, Gaston was a contestant on the final season of NBC's Nashville Star in 2008 and also appeared in the pilot episode of Glee that same year. He appeared on the seventh season of American Idol in 2010, performing a duet of Elvis Presley's "I Can Dream" with contestant Brooke White. Later that year, he was the opening act for the tour of American Idol winner Kris Allen.
When he's not working, Gaston helps his real-life wife, Y&R star Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman), raise their young daughters, Sophie and Olivia.
