A hand rose from underneath the depths of a trash pile at the local landfill. As the hand continued to move skyward, eventually a body was revealed... the body of a seemingly very alive Michael Cambias.
As the night before Kendall's trial lagged on, Michael Cambias haunted the dreams of nearly every Pine Valley resident. He toyed with them, bringing to light their biggest fears.
For Kendall, her nightmare included her eventual death-by-lethal-injection for the murder pf Michael Cambias. Michael taunted Simone, reminding her that she had been the one who'd caused his death. He then told her that no one would believe that she killed him because no one takes the "good time girl" as serious. Adam and Palmer relived the night that the tried to kill Michael. However, when their attempts failed, they were sentenced to spend the rest of their lives behind bars - together. The pair screamed in horror, knowing that they were stuck with one another. Jack's visions had him standing trial before Judge Michael Cambias. Though Jack pleaded guilty to killing Michael, the judge found him not guilty. He then went through a blink-of-an-eye trial and found Erica guilty of murder. Erica was remanded to custody as Jack was shackled to the bench and unable to help her. Erica revisited her 14th birthday - the night Richard Fields raped her. This time, the very grown Erica, was tormented by Michael Cambias. When Erica refused to dance cheek-to-cheek with Michael, Michael vowed that he would find a dance partner in either Kendall or Bianca. The deceased rapist reminded Erica that her daughters knew what it was like to be with him sexually - and noted that they would never turned down the chance to be with him. Lena's nightmare started off light, almost comical. As the host of a talk show, Lena showed viewers the perfect "recipe for murder." Lena explained how she's replaced the allergy pills in Michael's apartment with rat poison. As she took her virtual audience on a tour of Michael's apartment, Michael appeared before her. He blasted Lena as a not-worthy replacement for him in Bianca's life. He then banished her from his apartment as he summoned Bianca to be with him. Reggie dreamt that he was sent away for Michael's death, losing the all of the people he loved so dearly from his life.
As the sun started to rise on the new day, Michael vowed that everyone would pay for doing him wrong. "I'd bet my death on it," he sneered.
Bianca applies pressure on herself to come up with something, anything that will help Kendall escape the murder charge. She later goes to Michael's condo, hoping to retrieve a memory, and is surprised to see Erica there. Out of the blue, Bianca gets a flash of the night Michael was murdered.
Aidan goes on a fishing expedition for information about Michael and Kendall's liaison. He starts by finding the preacher, Fred Lomax that supposedly performed their nuptials in Las Vegas. Noting Fred's questionable mental state, Aidan talks him into leaving with him before someone else catches up with them.
David dodges a persistent Greenlee's attempt to get his help in proving that Kendall isn't really pregnant. He instead coaxes her to back down from her continued efforts to destroy Kendall. At the same time, Kendall gets a long, hard look at all the mistakes she's made in her life.
Greenlee and Ryan went to the hospital to see Edmund. Before they went in they stood in the waiting area and Pablo showed up. He told them there was no change in Edmund's condition. Ryan moved away so Greenlee could talk to JP. Inside Edmund's room Tad talked to him, making jokes and telling him that Maria was waiting for him. Tad and Maria stepped outside the room and Tad gave Maria encouragement to hang in there. He told her if she needed anything to call him and he left. Maria went back in the room. Greenlee and Pablo talked about Edmund and then stared into each other's eyes. She asked if he'd be leaving Pine Valley soon and he answered "As soon as I can." Ryan watched and then came over. He sent Greenlee in to see Edmund while he got in Pablo's face. He told JP to stay away from Greenlee because he was the worst thing that ever happened to her. Ryan ordered him to stay clear of Greenlee or "I'll make sure you do." JP agreed and Ryan joined Greenlee in Edmund's room. Tad came over to JP and said he couldn't believe what he just saw, and asked if he was going to take orders from Ryan concerning the love of his life. Tad said Ryan was moving in on Greenlee but Pablo refused to do anything about it. He said Edmund got shot because of him and he was going to focus on helping Maria. Tad told him he could do that and get Greenlee back at the same time. Meanwhile Greenlee offered to do anything to help Maria, even take the kids shopping, which made Maria laugh. Maria stepped into the hall and Ryan joined her. He told her that he stayed with Edmund at Wildwind for a while and that one day he walked in on Edmund talking to a picture of Maria. Ryan said Edmund was telling Maria about the kids and Edmund had said he was never going to let Maria go. This brought tears to Maria's eyes and she hugged Ryan. Greenlee came out of the room just in time to overhear this. Maria went back into Edmund's room and Greenlee said she was surprised to see Ryan's "marshmallow filling" coming out. Ryan told her no one would believe her if she told them and then said it was time to go to court.
In Jack's office Erica began to get very panicked about testifying for the prosecution. Jack tried to calm her down but she was worried she would "slip the noose" around her daughter's neck. Jack told her they'd get through this together but she was sure Michael Cambias would try to avenge his murder. Jack tried to convince her otherwise but Erica was distraught. He told her to look forward, towards the future but she said she had nothing to look forward to. Jack handed her a bundle of tickets, one for every member of their extended family including Kendall. They were all to go to the Riviera together. Erica broke down in tears and said it was so sweet of him to include everyone and to be so confident that Kendall would be set free. Jack turned on some icicle lights he had strung up around his office. He took her in his arms and told her to pretend they were at the boathouse in the summer and they danced for a minute. Then Jack sat Erica in a chair and he kneeled in front of her. He held her hand and said "Erica, will you marry me?" This brought Erica to tears again. But she stood up and asked him what was really going on. Jack said he loved her and wanted to marry her but Erica believed there was something he wasn't telling her. Jack promised there was nothing he hadn't told her but Erica didn't believe him. She asked why he was asking her now and Jack said because he still loved her. He asked her again to marry him and then kissed her. Erica was afraid that every time Jack looked at her he remembered that she had kept the secret about Greenlee from him. Jack said he forgave her and that everyone makes mistakes. Erica finally fell into Jack's arms and said yes to his proposal.
Kendall and Bianca talked before Kendall went to the courthouse. Bianca told her about the dream she had and that she was sure she had some information that could save her. Kendall told her it was just a nightmare but Bianca insisted that she knew something that would help Kendall but put someone else she loves in terrible danger. Kendall told her to just focus on the baby and let Livia and Jack take care of the legal issues. Bianca said she thinks that the night Michael was murdered she may have been at his condo and might have seen who really killed him. Kendall begged her to forget it and get some rest. As she got ready to leave Kendall told Bianca to start working on a name for the baby and jokingly suggested naming her Kendall. After Kendall left Bianca sat on the sofa and watch the news reports of the trial. She heard Michael's voice telling her she "has to find it."
Kendall arrived at the courthouse just as a reporter began questioning the prosecutor. He told her he was sure they had enough evidence to get a conviction. Kendall made a scene and the reporter ran to her and Ms. Frye, who was trying to get Kendall to be quiet. Livia said she was sure they'd get an acquittal due to lack of evidence. Moments later the opening arguments were heard from the prosecutor. He told the jury the state will prove that Kendall Hart Cambias fired the shot that ended her husband's life. He went on to describe the crime and what they believed happened the night of the murder. Kendall sat motionless with her hands over her "pregnant" belly. When he was done Livia told the jury that the state's case rests on a trumped up time line that was manipulated by Ryan Lavery. She disputed all of the state's evidence and said Kendall did not murder Michael Cambias, but asked "Who did?" She began listing all the possible reasons someone wanted Michael dead, including all those who loved Bianca, those people who's companies were taken by Cambias, ect. This implicated most of Pine Valley. Finally she said that the one thing they could be sure of was that Kendall did not murder her husband.. At the end of her attorney's speech Kendall looked very pleased. The judge ordered a recess and an investigator came in to talk to the prosecution. He told them that Reverend Lomax had gotten away, which was a blow to their case. Kendall answered her cell phone and it was Aidan, telling her the same news. She thanked him profusely then hung up to find Bianca sitting behind her. Bianca said she couldn't stay away. She told Kendall she was sure Ryan was going to come through for them concerning the paternity test. Kendall agreed as Ryan and Greenlee came in the courtroom. He waved at her and she smiled. They got together and Kendall thanked him for coming. Ryan said he would've come even if he didn't have to. She didn't understand until he said he'd been called to testify. Kendall got excited that he was going to defend her but then realized by the look on his face that he was there for the prosecution. When the court came back into session, the prosecution called Ryan to the stand.
At the hospital Maria went back into Edmund's room with a get well card Sam and Maddie had made. She read it to him and described the pictures. Then she leaned in close to him and whispered over and over "Wake up, wake up, wake up." She turned to sit the card on the table next to the bed and when she turned back Edmund's eyes were open. Maria grabbed his hand and asked "Are you back?." Edmund tried to speak but couldn't so Maria told him to squeeze her hand, which he did. Maria cried and laughed as she said "Welcome home!."
Ryan testifies for the prosecution on the opening day of Kendall's trial. Wiping away tears of joy, Maria assures Edmund they'll soon have him off the vent and back on the road to recovery. Ignoring Krystal's thinly veiled threats, Tad uses the dirt he's dug up on Babe to pressure her into revealing the secret she's concealed. Relieved to see Edmund conscious and alert, Juan Pablo apologizes to his friend for putting him in danger. Under cross-examination from Livia, Ryan tells the court how several other residents of Pine Valley had just as much motive and opportunity to kill Michael as did the accused. Later, Kendall beams as Ryan describes from the witness stand how he's signed over billions of dollars of Alexander's fortune to the true Cambias heir. After Tad departs, Krystal commends her daughter for keeping her lips sealed. Alan forces Ryan to admit under oath that he's in love with the defendant and has renewed his sexual relationship with her. Meanwhile, Bianca continues to struggle to understand the full meaning of her dream. Inspired by Ryan's faith in a woman who once betrayed him, JR decides to give his own wife the same benefit of the doubt. Greenlee, Mia and Simone decide to team up to prove that Kendall is lying through her teeth about her pregnancy. Tad returns home to find the entire place booby trapped, courtesy of a grinning Krystal. Brooke tries to reassure Edmund after he conveys to her his fear that his legs no longer work.
Tad looks at Krystal with vengeance as he stands feathered, wet, and embarrassed in his home. He compliments Krystal's booby trapping skills and she tells him that if he doesn't stop interfering in Babe's life, she will make his life even worse. Krystal sits at Tad's desk and begins using his computer. She says she is going to send an email to everyone with information about Tad including his social security number and mother's maiden name. When Tad asks her how she would know those things, she doesn't say, so he pulls the plug from his computer. He tries to make a deal with Krystal about Babe's secret, but it does not work, and only makes her more angry. When Krystal tries to scramble to another computer, Tad catches her, and Simone walks in. Looking hurt and tired of his ?Tad the cad? act, she leaves quickly.
Paul again refuses to help Babe with her paternity test swap. When Paul asks her to tell him why he should even help her, she tells him she has thirty million reasons why. Babe brings up the thirty million dollars Paul could lose if his Aunt Betsy found out about their marriage. She tells him that she is going to take a new paternity test and wants him to fly to Canada to fix the results before they arrive in Pine Valley. When Babe threatens to call Paul's aunt, Dorian, he doesn't seem upset because he points out that if she takes him down, she will go down right with him. If she reveals his secret, her life will suffer just as much harm too. Babe tells Paul that JR is not the only man she has slept with and even Paul himself may be the father!
Jackson calms Erica down before the trial begins. She trots off as the press starts to question David. David ignores the press and Jackson's remarks when he tells him to go with their agreement once he gets on the stand.
In the courtroom, Reggie and Bianca remark about how they think Kendall's case is looking up. Bianca gets startled when Reggie asks her if she "craves anything" from the vending machines. She says no and when he leaves, Ryan assures her that Reggie has no clue about her baby.
Kendall continues to be backed in a corner by the Fusion vultures. Simone seems to actually feel bad for harassing Kendall and tells Mia and Greenlee to back off. Greenlee demands proof from Kendall that she is really pregnant with Michael's child, and Erica walks in. Simone tells Erica what Mia and Greenlee are up to and Erica says she doesn't want to be part of their smothering plan. Greenlee reminds Erica that if Kendall is faking her pregnancy, she could get Enchantment back. Erica gently tells Kendall that maybe she should listen to the girls, if she has nothing to lie about, but Kendall doesn't trust them. Erica asks if Kendall trusts her enough to let her, and only her, touch her tummy. Kendall says yes and the Fusion girls agree to go with whatever Erica says. Erica touches Kendall's stomach and they exchange a mutual look, then Erica backs away and starts ranting about how disgusting Kendall is because she is carrying Michael's child.
Ryan and Livia walk in to get Kendall. Everyone follows out shortly after, except Greenlee. She chats with Ryan, proclaiming that she can't lose him, like she has lost her company and her friendship with Kendall. Ryan leaves to go back to the courtroom and Greenlee is off to do an investigation of her own. She sneaks in Kendall's home and starts looking for clues. She flips through Kendall's planner and does not see any baby appointments. She is about to leave when she finds the box that carried Kendall's pregnancy pillow lying on the floor.
Mia goes to have a bite with Liza, and tells her that Kendall really is pregnant and might be carrying Aidan's baby! Liza assumes that Mia has ended her relationship with Aidan, but Mia tells her she isn't like her sister. "I won't let that low life bitch steal my man," she proclaims. Mia tells Liza that it is obvious she cares about Tad and she should fight for him. Liza admits that she has feelings for Tad, but is scared to admit it to him. Liza remembers all the wonderful times her and Tad have shared over the years when Mia leaves. With a look of determination, Liza gets up and goes to see Tad. When she opens his door, not only does she see the mess in his house, but a barely-clothed Tad and Krystal making out on his couch!
Back in court, Singer begins questioning Detective Tanner. When he questions Tanner, he concludes that the fibers found in the duffel bag match the fibers of the dress Kendall was wearing the night Michael disappeared. Singer gives photos to the judge as evidence. Tanner also says that the blood in the bag matched Michael's and the .38 Caliber gun was also a match for the murder weapon, that belonged to Jackson. Livia cross-examines and points out the bad visibility of the pictures, along with the fact that Kendall was in the house with Michael several times before his murder. If she was in his house so much, then there was a chance the duffel bag was used for laundry, meaning Kendall's dress fibers could have been there long before Michael died. She also says that there was no id on who the bag belonged to and the blood may be from something as small as a paper cut.
Erica is the next witness to take the stand, with Singer questioning her first. Erica tells Singer that some of what she told the police was a lie. She admits that she did give Kendall the combo to Jack's safe, but during Livia's cross-examination, Erica tells the truth about David. She tells the jury in her saddest and most innocent voice, that she never spent the night with David; she just needed an alibi for the cops. When she gets off the stand, the judge calls for a break, and Erica whispers to McCoy, "I warned you not to cross me." Kendall catches Erica before she leaves and thanks her for her testimony. Kendall fills Ryan in about Erica touching her tummy.
Court begins again and this time, Jack takes the stand. Singer questions Jackson first and brings up Jackson's gun. Jackson tells him the gun was stolen and has no idea who took it. Then, Jackson makes himself a suspect by telling the jury that he stole a .38 caliber gun from the evidence room at the police station!
