All this week, as I watched GL, I had a major distraction that really interfered with my viewing of the show.
The story moved a little slow (but then, hasn't it done so all summer?) but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. But of all of the actors we saw this week, Cassie, Edmund, Alex, Danny, Michelle, Robbie, and Ross are all leaving - and soon.
Which leaves us with Harley running Spaulding Enterprises (unless she kills Blake for writing her book and ends up in prison again) and the Tammy/Jonathan/Sandy triangle. That's it - that's the list. All of the rest of our fall stories are yet to be started - and it's October already.
All of these cast changes could mean that we will see more of the cast that remains. Which could be a good thing, but it could also lose us fans who leave the show to follow their favorites elsewhere. I know that, many years ago, I used to watch 5 shows at a time, but just can't find the time these days.
Still, there is a big part of me that is enjoying watching Edmund squirm. His misdeeds have gone relatively unpunished for years. Now he'll get payback for all of those who he's hurt. What I don't really like is that his departure leaves us with only an incarcerated Alan as a villain. Unless A-M will step into those shoes - should he ever actually appear in Springfield.
I guess this week is when everything will finally explode on this storyline. Can't wait to see what happens - and how it all affects GL down the road.
