OK, is it me, or is Beth losing her marbles again? Not only did she keep Alan and Gus hostage for 3 ½ long months, but now, because she is pregnant, she TRUSTS Alan to stay with her and not turn her in?
I do realize that pregnancy involves lots of changing hormones and leaves you exhausted (so I've heard) but she's totally around the bend if she trusts Alan not to turn her in (ever) and stay with her (for more than the birth of the child).
And where does this leave Gus? Who (in her mind) double crossed her with the whole Christmas party embarrassment, but does he deserve to be left for dead? We know that he'll get back somehow, but Beth is not making things easy for herself. Alan can just sit and wait until she gives birth to another Spaulding heir (I'm hoping for a girl) then throw her to the wolves.
Speaking of women who have lost their minds, poor Marina is in for another rude awakening with A-M. How can she trust the same man who nearly kept her parents apart? Can't Marina find a good guy who won't mistreat her and those she loves? I see that GL is going to let her get in over her head again. I was hoping that the trip to California (that was mentioned briefly) meant an off-screen Eleni (her mother and A-M's ex) would talk some sense into her.
This week also means we say good bye to Sandy (Scott Bailey). I have to say that GL didn't always remember this character was in town, but he was involved in some pretty heavy duty storylines of late. And he'll go out with a flair - with old friends and enemies looking on. I do wish Scott the best as he heads to California to pursue other interests.
With March Madness this week, GL will only air three days, ending with the "Inside the Light" focusing on Tammy and Jonathan. Sandy's departure means more trouble for the twosome, and Jonathan will pay the price for not outing Sandy's marriage sooner.
While we are away watching basketball this week, can someone in Springfield PLEASE find Gus so we can move on with this story - consider it a birthday gift for little old me. ; ) I'm ready for a new story to watch as the weather finally warms up.
