Despite the growing buzz, it appears that Emmy-nominated Daniel Cosgrove (Bill Lewis) will not be joining to cast of One Life to Live after all. The actor, currently in his final days on Guiding Light, was reportedly being considered for the role of Joey Buchanan.
Cosgrove's name had been bandied about as a Joey recast candidate for several weeks, but a week after reporting that the actor was on the verge of signing a deal with the ABC soap, Soap Opera Digest reports that any possible deal is off the table.
The news is similar to that of another Guiding Light star who, just last month, was also rumored to be headed to Llanview. Two-time Emmy winner, Gina Tognoni (Dinah Marler, GL) was said to be in talks with One Life to Live about reprising the role of Kelly Cramer. As with Cosgrove, Tognoni was said to be thisclose to inking a deal. Then came word that One Life to Live and Tognoni were unable to come to terms on salary.
Had he joined One Life to Live, Cosgrove would have been the eighth actor to play the role of Joey Buchanan since 1982.
Cosgrove has received two Daytime Emmy nominations. Last year, he was nominated as Outstanding Supporting Actor. This year he is up for the Lead Actor trophy.
