LISA SVENSSON
Lisa Christine Svenson is a non-viewer (of soaps and virtually all television). She is a writer who lives with her husband, child, and a variety of pets (who were somewhat helpful in assisting her with her selections, although her older cat refused to cooperate entirely). She was overwhelmed by the number and character of awards being handed out this year, and really strained her brain to find reasonable and interesting ways of making predictions. These methods are described below, after her prediction in each category.

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES
As the World Turns
This was a tough choice. The letters in General Hospital can be rearranged to spell "A legal penis Thor" which produces all kinds of visuals of Norse gods in the nude, but it wasn't sufficiently compelling. Guiding Light produced no interesting rearrangements whatsoever, so it was easy to eliminate. As the World Turns can be rearranged to spell "Sternward Ho, Slut," which is quite compelling. It can also spell "A Dr. rents tush owl," a rather disturbing image for a doctor. The Young and the Restless can be rearranged to spell "Relegated shyest hot nuns" or "Renegade hustles thy snot." The Bold and the Beautiful produces "A dabbled heel of unhit Tut," a clear indication of the mummy's curse, and something to be avoided. It was a tough call between As the World Turns and The Young and the Restless, but in the end, "Sternward Ho, Slut" was just the most amusing.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR
Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer, General Hospital)
This choice was perhaps the least labor-intensive of all my predictions. I drew the name from a hat. It was a best one out of one, no strange mathematical calculations or moon positions required.
OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS
Maura West (Carly Snyder, As the World Turns)
This prediction was reached in a highly scientific manner. I used five equal-sized pieces of paper, wrote each nominee's name on one piece of paper, and folded them in an identical manner. I then placed all five simultaneously on the surface of a large container of water. All the other candidates were submerged, so Maura was the only candidate left.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR
James Reynolds (Abe Carver, Days of our Lives)
For this prediction, I wrote each name on a slip of paper, placed them equally spaced on the floor, and put an identical piece of dog food on each piece. James was the first piece of dog food eaten by my dog (who was very confused by the process and took some convincing to make a selection). He was scientific in his approach, and did not take the first one he came to or the first one he sniffed.
OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Sharon Case (Sharon Newman, The Young and the Restless)
This result was crystal clear. I wrote each name on an identical-sized piece of paper, folded each in half, and secured each with a binder clip. I shook all five selections in my hand and then tossed them across the room. Sharon's flew substantially farther than all the others, and even made a bold leap at the end to secure her win.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR
Brian Presley (Jack Ramsey, Port Charles)
For this selection, I wrote each name on an equal-sized piece of paper, attached a fifteen-inch piece of orange yarn to each nominee's name, and dangled all five simultaneously in front of my younger, smarter, more agile cat. After convincing her that all five were NOT acceptable, she selected Brian. I believe she wishes to vote again.
OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS
Lauren Woodland (Brittany Hodges, The Young and the Restless)
For this test, I wrote each nominee's name on a small piece of paper (equal sized, so it was a fair test), crumbled each piece of paper, and tossed them down the stairs. Lauren's name went two steps further than her closest competitor.
OUTSTANDING WRITING IN A DRAMA SERIES
All My Children
For this test, I attempted to toss four balls of paper (with nominations on each) into a pen holder on my desk (from a reasonable distance). While none went in, All My Children hit the rim and landed closest to the cup. General Hospital still has not been found.
