Rey helps Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon escape

Monday, March 18, 2019

At the Genoa City detention facility, Sharon, Victoria, and Nikki appeared distraught as a guard fastened handcuffs on each and explained that they would be transported to the Lakewood Correctional Facilities to serve their sentences. The officer added, "Welcome to the rest of your lives, ladies." After Victoria, Sharon, and Nikki stepped into a van, the driver was instructed to take off. Nikki whispered that Victor would ensure that she and Victoria could bunk together, so they could take care of each other. Victoria seemed shaken to her core.

At Rey's apartment, Billy and Nick stopped by to confront Rey. Billy noted that he wasn't surprised that Mia wasn't there after she'd heard Rey admit on the witness stand that he loved Sharon. Nick added that because of Rey, three women with lives, families, and jobs were heading to prison. Nick explained that the three women had done nothing wrong except protect themselves and each other. Rey claimed he'd done his job, and the jury had made their call. Nick accused Rey of having done his job by lying to a vulnerable woman and telling her he loved her in order to squeeze a confession and make his case. Nick said he was giving Rey a chance to make things right.

Nick and Billy told Rey that the fire at the stables, the gun, and the bloody shirt police had later recovered had all been a setup to frame Victor for J.T's disappearance. Nick told Rey about the man who'd installed surveillance equipment inside the walls of the ranch house. Rey asked why Nick hadn't alerted the police. Nick cited Christine's mission to prosecute a Newman and Rey's inability to separate his role as a detective from his desire to fall in line with Christine. Billy said he was certain the man inside the walls was J.T. because the man had once recited a song he'd written to Katie while she'd been visiting at Nikki and Victor's. Rey scoffed at the notion that J.T. had been living unseen at the ranch.

Nick and Billy berated Rey for screwing up the investigation and taking advantage of Sharon's misplaced trust. Billy, further explaining their hesitancy to discuss J.T.'s presence at the ranch, noted that Victoria's testimony should have been the silver bullet to acquit them all. Billy added that J.T., a security expert, was acquainted with every square inch of the grounds. Nick said, "You have no body, no corpse, no J.T." Billy explained that because it was assumed J.T. was dead, Rey had helped J.T. terrorize the Newman family. Nick cried that his mother, sister, and Sharon didn't deserve to be imprisoned for a crime that had never happened, and he begged Rey to help them set things right. Rey replied, "All right."

At Crimson Lights, Nick was biting his nails while he stared intently at his phone. Phyllis approached apprehensively and thanked Nick for putting aside their differences for Summer. Nick said he had a lot on his mind because Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon were aboard a transport van headed to prison, leaving behind their children and other family members. Phyllis cried that she'd never meant for it to happen. Nick noted that Phyllis was always concerned for herself, so he didn't want to hear what she had to say.

Phyllis suggested she and Nick focus instead on their daughter's marriage. Nick noted that Summer had no idea how to make a relationship work. Phyllis changed the subject and said she'd done what she had in hopes of helping Nikki, Sharon, and Victoria. Nick insisted that Phyllis had taken the stand because she'd wanted to help herself. Nick received a text message from Billy, indicating that the plan was in motion. Nick excused himself and left.

At the Abbott mansion, Abby comforted Arturo after he'd endured a sleepless night. Arturo cried that though he'd prayed for Lola's transplant, he was worried that bad things could happen. Abby assured Arturo that she'd look after him while he looked after his sister. Arturo remained tense, and Abby massaged his shoulders. Abby said she'd meet Arturo at the hospital. Arturo left alone.

At the hospital, Nate checked on Lola. Sounding stronger and upbeat, Lola said she felt as though she'd won the lottery because someone had made the choice to give her part of their body. Lola said she wished she could thank the donor. Nate took Lola's hand, and she asked about Kyle. Nate avoided mention of Kyle and focused on comforting Lola.

In their suite at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Summer awoke and saw Kyle, dressed and carrying his shoes, about to walk out the door. Summer said she had thought she'd wake up next to her husband, and she asked Kyle where he was going. Kyle said he was headed to the hospital to make sure everything was set and had hoped Summer would remain asleep, so she could get much-needed rest. Kyle promised future mornings filled with breakfast in bed and perfect coffee. Kyle reminded Summer that the morning after their wedding had to be different because of the surgery.

Kyle praised Summer's life-changing sacrifice. Summer replied, "What I am doing, I am doing for us. Because I know that this is our story. This is what it takes for us to have the life that we want." Summer acknowledged that Kyle still loved Lola. Summer added that she and Kyle belonged together more than they could ever belong to anyone else. Summer assured Kyle that he'd agree with her in time. Kyle replied, "I'm in, Summer. You're right. Together is the answer. I'm committed to keeping my promise to you." Summer said that their love and the vows they'd taken were more than just words sealing a contract.

In a room at the Athletic Club, Mia twisted her wedding band and recalled conversations with Rey and Arturo. Mia remembered the day Rey had said he was done with their relationship because he was in love with Sharon. In another flashback, Mia recalled the ever-present sexual tension between herself and Arturo. Mia picked up her phone, called Arturo, and insisted he stop by to talk to her. She warned that he'd regret it if he didn't.

When Arturo arrived, Mia cried that Rey had left her, adding that she couldn't believe that "some words and one night" could end a marriage based on real love. Arturo blamed Mia for calling out his name when she and Rey had been making love. Mia reminded Arturo that he was the one who'd returned to her apartment the night of the storm. Arturo replied, "Yeah, it was one night, okay? That's it. It was a mistake." Mia cried that she'd tried to forget, but when she and Rey had made love, she'd said Arturo's name.

Mia told Arturo that she recognized the looks Sharon and Rey exchanged, though both had contended that nothing had happened the night they'd spent at a motel. Arturo suggested that Mia give Rey some time and some space and added that Sharon was no longer an option. Mia said it was worse because Sharon was a princess in a tower. Arturo ended the conversation and said he had to get to the hospital to be with his family. As Arturo walked out, Mia said, "Such a good sibling, except for that time you went into your brother's apartment and slept with his wife." Arturo asked Mia what she wanted. Mia told Arturo that if he didn't convince Rey to take her back, she'd tell Abby they'd had sex.

Mia ran into Phyllis at the coffeehouse. Mia apologized for not being available to do Summer's hair and makeup for her wedding. Phyllis noted that it might have been awkward because Summer had married Kyle. Mia agreed that love could be complicated and confusing. Mia thanked Phyllis for considering her to do the job. Phyllis praised Mia for being tough and willing to fight for what she wanted. Mia replied, "You don't ask, you don't get." Phyllis agreed that one had to move forward without waiting for permission.

Mia expressed admiration for Phyllis having reached a high level of success and living her dream. Phyllis said she was sorry to hear about what had happened to Lola. Mia bristled at the mention of Lola. Pulling herself together in an instant, Mia replied that Lola was strong and would pull through. Phyllis promised to keep Lola in her good thoughts.

After Phyllis left, Abby arrived. Abby asked Mia if she was headed to the hospital to meet Rey. Mia replied, "Rey and his family need some space right now. It's something you might want to consider." Abby said she knew what her fiancé needed. Abby became unsettled when Mia said she'd offered the advice from the bottom of her heart to ensure that they all could live good, happy lives.

Summer, wearing a ball cap and sunglasses, tightly clutched Kyle's arm as they entered the hospital to meet Nate. Summer, shivering with fear, said she'd rather not discuss the specifics of the procedure because she'd made the mistake of reading about it online. Nate assured Summer that she'd be fine. Kyle offered to summon Nick and Phyllis, but Summer said she didn't want them to know and only wanted Kyle by her side. Summer suggested that Kyle might leave her after Lola received her transplant. Summer cried that Kyle might consider her to be an obligation. Kyle assured Summer that he'd be waiting for her after surgery.

Arturo arrived and told Lola that Rey would arrive soon. Lola joked that Rey was busy fighting crime and saving the world. Lola asked if Kyle was aware that her surgery was about to take place. Arturo claimed that Kyle was staying away to give the family some space. Lola said that Kyle had been with her when she'd awakened. Lola added that Kyle knew Arturo didn't like him. Lola made Arturo promise not to keep Kyle away. Arturo changed the subject by asking Lola what she'd order when she could eat again. Lola wasn't interested in talking about food and instead wished she could personally thank her donor. Lola begged Arturo to find out who her donor was.

As the transport van continued on its journey, Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon were startled when the van suddenly lurched. Nikki consoled Victoria. The transport van continued for a time before it abruptly stopped, and the driver exited. The guard opened the back door and told the women to exit. Nikki refused and told Victoria to stay put. Victoria cried out that something was wrong. Nick suddenly appeared and said, "It's okay. You're safe. I promise."

At the Abbott cabin, Billy and Rey coordinated their plan. Rey asked Billy if there was a chance that his brother might show up with Kyle. Billy said there wasn't. Billy made Rey promise that the guys he was using wouldn't back out. Rey replied, "No. They want the DOC officers with bad baggage. Them doing this for me is a lot better than me ratting them out." Rey added that he was ready to deal with the fallout.

Nick arrived with Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon. Rey explained that sending them to prison wasn't the answer, so he'd fixed what he'd done. After Rey left, Billy told Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon that Rey had arranged for the driver and the guard to follow instructions. Billy added that Rey had "dirt" on both of them. Nick said the scenario would be explained as an accident and an escape of prisoners. Nick said the next step would involve setting a trap for J.T.

Back at the hospital, a nurse wheeled a nervous Summer into an elevator. Summer told Kyle she loved him. Kyle replied, "I love you, too." Summer looked petrified after she was separated from Kyle. Nate entered the elevator and pressed the button to close the doors. Kyle exhaled deeply and swallowed hard.

In Lola's room, Arturo and Abby were with Lola when Rey rushed in. Abby quietly stepped out. Lola took Rey's hand and joked that he'd taken time out from fighting crime. Arturo and Rey teased each other, and Lola quipped that all it took to get her brothers together was a little organ failure. As Abby waited outside, Kyle appeared. Abby said, "Why aren't you at home with your new bride?"

At Devon's penthouse, Ana tucked an envelope of cash into her purse as Devon arrived home. He invited her to go for a jog, but she informed him that she had to head out to a meeting. Devon noted that there wasn't anything scheduled on the books, and Ana mentioned a potential new artist that she wanted to vet before introducing him to Devon. She accidentally dropped her purse, spilling its contents, and he looked on as she nervously shoved everything back into her bag. She headed out, and he waited a moment before following her.

Ana entered a motel room as Devon peered around the corner. He approached the door and knocked, and a woman answered and asked if she could help him. He referred to the girl who had just arrived there, but the woman replied that he had the wrong room, and she closed the door in his face. Devon pounded on the door again, and the woman asked what he wanted. He revealed that he'd just seen his sister go into that room, and he knew she was in there. He assumed that the woman was the person Ana had been giving money to.

Ana appeared and demanded to know what Devon was doing there. He shot back the same question, since she'd lied about where she'd been going. Ana was appalled that he'd followed her after everything they'd talked about, and she barked that her reason for being there was none of his business. Devon pushed to know where the money had gone, and he refused to leave until he found out what was going on. A man approached the door and said he'd like to know, too. "What are you doing here?" Devon asked.

Devon recognized Jet Slade, a successful rhythm and blues singer who'd owned the charts years before. Devon gushed that he was a huge fan, and he wondered why Jet had stopped recording. Jet admitted that his health hadn't been great, and the woman who'd answered the door lectured that he shouldn't be overexerting himself. The woman introduced herself as Elena, Jet's nurse. Devon was surprised that Ana hadn't told him that Jet was the artist she was meeting, since Devon would be happy to discuss Jet recording again.

Elena insisted that Jet rest, and Devon offered to schedule another time to meet. Ana blurted out that she wasn't there to talk about business, and she divulged that she'd been helping Jet pay for an operation and follow-up treatments. Devon realized that it had been where her money had gone, and Ana exclaimed that it had been worth it, since Jet was getting better. Devon guessed that Ana and Jet were friends who had met when singing back in the day. Ana replied that she'd like to think they were friends, but Jet was also her father.

Ana recounted that she'd started looking for Jet a year earlier, and her mom had helped to track him down. Jet mentioned that Yolanda had never told him that he had a daughter, and Devon wasn't surprised. Jet felt awful for losing out on precious years with Ana, but he thought having her there had been a miracle. Ana enthused that getting to know her father had filled in a missing portion of her life, and she knew more about herself from meeting him and talking to him. Devon understood the feeling, but he was curious about why Ana had never told him.

Jet swore that he hadn't wanted to cause problems between the siblings, and he began to cough. Elena cautioned against upsetting her patient, but Devon pushed for a clear answer from Ana. Ana questioned what right Devon had had to follow her, and Jet said he was sorry. Ana insisted that Jet had done nothing wrong, and she explained that she'd lied because she and Jet didn't want handouts from Devon. Devon wondered why they'd resent him if he was willing to help and had the means to do it. Elena declared that Devon and Ana needed to leave to let Jet rest.

Devon pleaded that he was just trying to protect his sister, and Elena argued that she was trying to protect her uncle. Ana said she would talk to Jet later, and she stepped out. Devon hoped for more time to work things out, but Elena sternly stated that it was her patient and her rules. Devon agreed to leave -- for the time being.

Kerry arrived at the Abbott mansion and found the living room furniture covered in sheets to create a fort. Jack jumped out from under the sheets with a playful growl. He apologized for scaring Kerry, and he explained that Johnny and Katie had been playing explorers and that he'd been the bear. Jack guessed that the kids had given up the hunt, and Kerry thought Mrs. Martinez's cookies had distracted them. Jack admitted that he hadn't been sure when Billy had asked him to cover for the nanny, but the children's wide-eyed sense of wonder had been contagious. Jack worried that the light in the kids' eyes might go out with their mother gone, and he vowed to surround them with all the love and support possible.

Over the phone, Kerry told someone that she'd be back in the office that afternoon. After she hung up, Jack surmised it had been Phyllis on the phone, and he asked if there was a lot happening at Jabot. Kerry preferred to focus on him, and they kissed. He recognized that he'd put her in an awkward position with Phyllis, and he wouldn't blame Kerry if she had second thoughts about helping to oust her boss. Kerry reiterated that it had nothing to do with friendship but was about business, and she was sure that Phyllis would do the same thing in her position.

Jack looked forward to kites and hot dogs in the park, and he marveled that watching the kids play was a simple joy in life. He invited Kerry to go with them, clarifying that it wasn't about blowing Phyllis off but was about flying kites. She agreed to spare an hour, and he yelled for the kids.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah appeared to be deep in thought as she stirred her coffee. Tessa joined her and observed that Mariah was clearly distracted. Mariah apologized for being too worried about everyone else to act normal, and she mentioned that Faith was a wreck with their mom going to prison. Tessa insisted that Mariah was the best big sister the girl could ever ask for, and Mariah lamented that Tessa was comforting her when Tessa was awaiting trial. Tessa urged Mariah to think of ways to help, since Mariah was a persuasive, powerful woman with a platform who could advocate for those in need.

Tessa pointed out that Mariah had used her platform to find a donor for Lola, and she encouraged Mariah to do the same thing to help Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon get an appeal. Mariah figured that she could at least get the real story out there, and she envisioned telling the story from each woman's perspective, leading up to a rally of support to overturn the verdict. Tessa proclaimed that she was totally in, and she considered it the first step she could take to pay the women back for what she'd done.

Later, Mariah and Tessa returned to the coffeehouse with enough flyers to paper the entire town. Mariah thanked Tessa for reminding her of what was important, and she felt good about being proactive, even if it didn't accomplish anything. Mariah continued to worry about her mother, but Tessa firmly stated that it wasn't over by a long shot if they had anything to say about it. Tessa brainstormed lyrics for a song of protest as she headed out.

Jack greeted Mariah and mentioned that he was on kid patrol that day. Mariah jokingly asked if Kyle was acting up again, and Jack chuckled and clarified that he was looking after Katie and Johnny, who had insisted on hot chocolate for the trip home. Jack recognized that it couldn't be an easy day for Mariah, and she confided that she'd lost track of her "not easy" days, but she'd been strangely motivated that day. She shared that she'd chosen not to just deal with the aftermath of the trial but to get out there and raise awareness. He applauded her and offered his help if there was anything he could do.

At the Abbott cabin, Nick and Billy told Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon about their plan to find J.T. while the women hid out in the cabin. Sharon declared that she had total trust in Rey to give the men time to find J.T., but Victoria wasn't convinced that J.T. was out there to find. Billy shared that Katie had remembered the song her "friend" inside the ranch walls had sung to her, and he'd recognized it as one J.T. had written to sing to Reed. Victoria contemplated whether J.T. had been alive the whole time. Nikki insisted on doing something to help, but Nick warned that none of them could be seen.

Nikki worried about Nick and Billy proceeding with their plan without outside help, and Nick assured her that he'd hired a private security team. Over the phone, Nick informed Rey that Nick's guys would be there soon to watch the cabin. Sharon requested to speak to Rey, and she stepped out of earshot. She asked if he was okay, and he was amazed that she was worried about him.

Sharon recognized that it had been a difficult decision for Rey to help them, and she recalled how he'd told her about breaking the rules in Miami to help a friend. Rey swore that he'd never meant for any of it to happen, and he owed it to her to try to make things right. She pointed out that he could lose everything, and he responded that some things were worth the risk. They agreed that there was much more that they wanted to say to one another, and he hoped they could have a talk in person soon.

Nick instructed one guard to circle the grounds while another monitored the house, taking no breaks. He provided the women with a burner phone, and Nikki pointedly offered to take it so that no one called 9-1-1 in a panic. Sharon suggested that they put it on the table to show that they trusted one another, and Victoria grumbled that it wouldn't happen when a handsome detective was involved. Nick promised it would be over soon, and Victoria wondered if J.T. was so thirsty for revenge that Nick and Billy could provoke him into going after them.

Nick promised to call as soon as he had any news, and Nikki hugged him and told him to be safe. Billy assured Victoria that she wouldn't go back to prison, but she thought it was a long shot. Nick and Billy headed out, and Victoria bemoaned that she felt out of the loop. Sharon figured that the men had needed to make a last-minute decision, and there hadn't been a lot of options. Victoria voiced concern that Nick and Billy hadn't thought things through, so they'd find themselves in over their heads. Sharon argued that the alternative was that they'd go to jail for a very long time. Victoria countered that they still might if the plan failed.

At Victoria's house, Nick and Billy used electronic devices to determine whether the home was bugged.

At the hospital, Kyle checked in to see how Lola's surgery was going. Abby doubted that Summer was willing to sacrifice her honeymoon to let Kyle stand vigil at his ex-girlfriend's bedside, and Kyle claimed that they weren't leaving until later. Abby snapped that he had to be better at lying to keep up the façade, and he asked her to drop it. She pushed him to tell the truth, and she guessed that Summer was the donor and that she'd blackmailed Kyle into marrying her in exchange for Lola's life.

Kyle denied that Summer had blackmailed him into anything, but Abby didn't buy it, since he'd been devoted to Lola. Kyle argued that there had been too many differences between him and Lola, but Abby was certain that Kyle and Lola had shared something real. Kyle ordered Abby to drop it, but she thought Summer had obviously been hiding something before the wedding. Abby contended that the couple hadn't had any explanation for having a quickie wedding on the day Summer's grandmother and aunt had been hauled off to jail, and she questioned why they'd needed to get married right away. Kyle testily asked why she couldn't just be happy for them.

Arturo ordered Kyle not to yell at Abby, but Abby chalked it up to what the Abbotts did. Abby mentioned that she'd asked Kyle if Summer was the donor, and she reasoned that Summer couldn't back out if he told the truth. Arturo huffed that he might actually have respect for Kyle if he'd made the transplant happen, but Kyle maintained that he hadn't. Arturo spat that Kyle wasn't a martyr but a "crappy boyfriend" who'd cheated on Lola five minutes after they'd broken up. Arturo anticipated Lola waking up and calling for Kyle again, and Arturo would have to tell her Kyle had gotten married.

Kyle excitedly inquired whether Lola had asked for him, but Abby said it didn't matter. Kyle stressed that all that mattered was Lola waking up and making a full recovery. He swore that he would leave once he knew whether she'd made it through the surgery. Nate appeared and reported that the surgical team was midway through the surgery, and everything was going smoothly so far. He promised to find Lola's family as soon as he had another update, and he stepped away.

Arturo asked if Rey was okay, and Rey requested a minute alone. Arturo told Abby that Rey always took things hard because he always felt that he had to be responsible for everyone. Abby encouraged Arturo to join Rey, but Arturo protested that their family didn't like to talk about things. Abby sat down next to Rey and remarked that it hadn't been bad news, and Arturo insisted that Lola would pull through. Rey believed it, but Abby wondered why he still seemed so worried. Rey excused himself to take a call, and Nick informed him that he and Billy had found "it." Rey replied that the men knew what to do. Later, Rey ignored an incoming call from Paul.

Nate announced that the surgery was over and that early signs indicated that the transplant had been a success. Kyle hugged Nate, and the Rosales brothers embraced. Abby threw her arms around Kyle, who happily murmured that Lola would be okay. Nate quietly turned away, and Kyle privately asked him when Summer would be up for visitors. Nate regretted that Summer's surgery hadn't gone as well as Lola's had.

Meanwhile, holding the listening devices that they'd discovered inside Victoria's house, Nick and Billy staged a conversation about how they intended to secure passports for Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon before whisking them out of the country. Nick said they had to get the ladies to a Dark Horse warehouse and arrange transport from there.

At the cabin, Nikki acknowledged that the plan might not be perfect, but she thought they needed to get behind it. Sharon was confident that Rey wouldn't let anything go wrong, but Victoria clucked that he wasn't all-powerful. Victoria added that even if J.T. turned up, it wouldn't absolve them of all their crimes. Nikki imagined that taking out the murder charge would be huge, and they'd end up with lesser sentences.

Victoria griped that they'd get more time for becoming fugitives, or they could go on the run and never see their families again. Victoria ranted that the plan assumed that an unhinged J.T. was hunting them, but Nikki insisted that J.T. was heading into a trap. Victoria fretted that J.T. might go after Billy, Nick, or Victor, and there was no telling who J.T. would fixate on because he could justify anything in his twisted mind. She added that she knew better than anyone what he was capable of.

Nikki suggested that they stop talking about J.T., and Sharon focused on the men outside whose sole job was to protect them. Nikki voiced her surprise that Rey had agreed to help them, and Victoria surmised that it had something to do with his admission of love for Sharon on the stand. Sharon countered that Rey had also said he only wanted to be with his wife, and she believed he was a good man who wanted to do the right thing. Nikki hoped that he was so desperately in love with Sharon that he would do anything to save her, since all of their futures were in his hands.

Nikki noted that the guards had dropped off supplies to make dinner, and she proposed that they light a fire and pretend it was a normal evening. Sharon and Victoria scoffed, and Nikki conceded that it wasn't normal, but it was better than being on their way to prison. Nikki suggested that they enjoy one another's company and a cozy cabin while they could, but Sharon and Victoria looked skeptical. Meanwhile, a man in a guard's uniform appeared outside the patio door, panting for breath. J.T. peered into the cabin.

J.T. holds the women at gunpoint

J.T. holds the women at gunpoint

Billy and Nick were at Victoria's, speaking into the listening device they'd found. They hoped that J.T. was listening. They talked about their plans to get Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon out of Genoa City. They confirmed their plans to get the women from the Dark Horse warehouse to the airstrip, making sure they had everything the women would need to get out of the country.

Billy and Nick went into another room and spoke in whispers. They confirmed their plans regarding J.T., but Billy expressed skepticism about Rey. Nick said he trusted Rey. Nick called his security guards for an update and was told that J.T. hadn't shown up yet. Billy said he was worried about the women. Nick said he'd call the cabin, and Billy could talk to Victoria for reassurance that the ladies were okay. Billy agreed.

Nick's first call to Victoria didn't go through. While Nick tried again, Billy said that something was wrong because J.T. should have taken the bait and gone to Dark Horse. Nick told Billy he was going to talk to Rey. He suggested that Billy remain and provide further information into the listening device about their escape plans for the women. Billy told Nick that Rey would have to answer to them if anything went wrong. Nick spoke to Victoria, and after the call ended, he assured Billy the women were okay.

Nick and Billy confirmed that they would meet at the cabin later. After Nick left, Billy pretended to call Victoria to provide her with further information about their pickup from Dark Horse and transport to the airstrip. Once Billy completed feeding information into the listening device, he sent a text message to Nick, telling him it was done.

At the hospital, Rey thanked Nate for saving Lola's life. Rey received a call from Christine demanding that he return to the police station immediately because they had three fugitives on the run. Rey assured her that he'd been doing everything he could to find the fugitives, and he confirmed that he'd questioned a number of people. Christine said she didn't trust him because of his proclamation of love for Sharon in court. Christine had seen how love could interfere in an investigation.

At the cabin, Nikki stated that Nick should have allowed them to be the real bait for J.T. Victoria proclaimed that she didn't have confidence in Nick's plan. Sharon assured Nikki and Victoria that Rey was confident their plan would work. Nikki scoffed and said she felt so much better because Rey had so much experience breaking people out of prison. Sharon reminded them that Rey was on their side.

Outside the cabin, one of the security guards had been checking the surrounding area. He discovered a partially clad and unconscious security guard. At that moment, J.T. knocked the second security guard unconscious. J.T. cringed when Victoria stood on the porch, yelling, "Hello." The phone rang, and the ladies went inside the cabin. Victoria assured Nick that they were fine. She asked Nick if J.T. had arrived at the Black Horse warehouse. Nick said J.T. hadn't, but Nick promised to protect them. He assured Victoria the situation would be resolved very soon.

When Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon went into the kitchen, J.T. stood at the door and saw the burner phone on the table.

Victoria told Nikki she wanted to feel better after she'd spoken to Nick. Nikki reminded her that they weren't in prison. Nikki assured her that they would be fine. The ladies were frightened when the lights suddenly went out. Victoria decided to call Nick to report what had happened, but the phone was gone. She discovered that the landline was also dead. Victoria guessed that J.T. was outside. Nikki told Sharon and Victoria to arm themselves. Victoria grabbed a knife, Sharon grabbed a heavy ornament, and Nikki picked up the fireplace poker.

Outside, J.T. destroyed the burner phone with the butt of his gun.

Victoria told Nikki and Sharon that J.T. wanted to draw them outside, and she complied. Outside, Victoria yelled for J.T., saying that she had a gun, and she wasn't afraid to use it. She said they would protect themselves the way they had before. Victoria suggested that they get to a cabin with a working phone and call for help, but when they entered the cabin, J.T. told them it was too late for them to run.

At the bar at the Athletic Club, Phyllis saw Victor and complained that her day couldn't have gotten any worse. She told Victor that Christine was responsible for the women's fate because Christine had twisted her words. After she saw the news flash on the television, Phyllis advised Victor that Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon were fugitives.

At the police station, Rey assured Christine that he'd done everything he could in an attempt to locate the fugitives. Christine stated that she didn't doubt Rey's loyalty. After Christine walked away, Nick arrived and chided Rey for not answering his calls. Rey explained that he'd been with the D.A. Nick told Rey he suspected that J.T. was onto them because he hadn't shown up at the warehouse. At that moment, Victor stormed into the police station.

Shouting, Victor demanded to know what efforts Rey had made in finding Nikki and Victoria. Victor yelled that if anything happened to Nikki or Victoria, he would hold the police department responsible. Nick tried to explain, but Victor ignored him.

Rey led Nick and Victor into a room for privacy. Nick explained to Victor about the ladies' escape that he and Rey had planned. He also told Victor how they had set a trap for J.T. He assured Victor that Nikki and Victoria were safe. Victor wanted to see them immediately. Nick informed him that Nikki and Victoria were at the Abbott cabin, and his best security men were protecting them. Victor asked if they had a backup plan. Rey assured him that they had all bases covered. Victor advised Nick not to trust Rey because he'd tried to put Nikki and Victoria behind bars for the rest of their lives.

Rey told Victor he'd been devastated when the sentences had been handed down. He assured Victor that he wasn't a fan of vigilante justice or false convictions. Rey admitted that at the time of his testimony, he hadn't had all the facts. He had believed that Sharon, Nikki, and Victoria had taken the law into their own hands and had killed J.T.

Nick told Victor they had to find J.T. He explained that he'd tried to lure J.T. to the warehouse at Dark Horse, but J.T. hadn't taken the bait. Victor insisted on going to the cabin to see Nikki and Victoria, but Nick discouraged him, indicating that J.T. could follow Victor to the cabin. Nick suggested that Victor call and speak to Nikki so she could assure him they were okay. Nick dialed the number, but no one answered.

Victor said he was going to the cabin. Nick said he would go with Victor and told him not to panic because there had to be an answer. Christine stood in the doorway and asked, "The answer to what?" Rey explained that he'd invited Victor and Nick to meet with him because he wanted to reassure them that everything possible had been done to identify the women's whereabouts. Christine was skeptical. Rey stated it was time to get into the field. He took out his business card, jotted something down, and gave it to Nick. Rey told Nick to call him if he heard anything.

After Rey and Christine left, Nick told Victor that Rey wanted them to meet him in the garage.

In the Abbott living room, Kerry massaged Jack's shoulders. Jack reminded her that she needed to return to the lab, but she said she had time. She asked about Johnny and Katie. Jack said that they were playing. He told her that they had a game room full of board games. Kerry said that Jack hadn't mentioned Dina recently. Jack admitted that Dina had been struggling. Kerry realized they were almost alone, and she suggested that they go to the game room and "play."

Back at the cabin, J.T. told Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon that he'd been watching them since the day they'd tried to kill him. J.T. appeared to be in pain because he kept cradling his head. Victoria explained that Nikki had only tried to protect her. She asked why he hadn't stepped forward in all that time. J.T. claimed that he'd loved watching all of them squirm while the cops had investigated them for his murder. Victoria asked how he'd known they were at the cabin. J.T. explained that he'd followed the prison van because he had wanted to see them being marched into prison for what they'd done to him, but they had decided to take a detour.

Victoria asked J.T. to release Nikki and Sharon because the issues were between her and J.T., but J.T. said there was plenty of payback to go around. He reached into his backpack and gave Victoria plastic ties and ordered her to tie everyone's hands and ankles.

Victoria asked how J.T. had escaped the grave. J.T. picked up the fireside poker and sneered, claiming he was certain Nikki wished she had hit him much harder. Once the women were bound, J.T. told them about the sheer terror he'd experienced as the dirt had piled up on top of him. Nikki spat that she was certain it was the same terror he'd put Victoria through, and if she hadn't stopped him, he would have killed Victoria. Nikki stated that she'd done the only thing she could to protect her child. She accused J.T. of making them feel responsible for his death for a year.

Holding her at gunpoint, J.T. yelled for Nikki to shut up. J.T. appeared to have intense head pain. Victoria said she was worried about him, but J.T. asked if she'd been worried when she'd thrown him into a hole like garbage. Victoria asked how J.T. had managed to escape his grave. He explained that they had buried him on top of a storm drain. The storm drain had burst under his weight and the weight of the dirt, sending him on a ride through the city drain system. Victoria stated that none of them had wanted him dead.

J.T. told Nikki, Victoria, and Sharon that he had listened to them for months. He'd heard how they felt about him and the justification for what they had done to him. Victoria wanted to explain, but J.T. wanted to know how she would explain to Reed about burying J.T. alive. J.T. held his head as the pain intensified. Victoria wanted to know what he planned to do. J.T. cocked his gun. Victoria suggested that he could handle things differently, and she asked him to think of Reed.

J.T. asked if Victoria had thought about Reed when she'd tried to kill him. J.T. accused her of allowing Reed to believe that he had abandoned Reed. Victoria said that she'd wanted them to be a family again, and she couldn't believe the way things had turned out. J.T.'s pain kept intensifying. He screamed at Victoria that he'd known what was best for them, and he wanted to know why Victoria hadn't listened to him. J.T. refused to discuss it any further with her. He continued to cradle his head and grimace in pain.

Outside the cabin, Billy walked through the woods, waiting to hear from Nick. Phyllis tapped him on the shoulder and scared him. She confessed that she'd followed him. Billy demanded that she go home, or she would screw everything up. Phyllis refused. She guessed that the ladies were hiding in the cabin. She told Billy she was going with him, whether he liked it or not.

Back in the cabin, Nikki told J.T. he should only blame her, but J.T. was distracted because of the intense pain in his head. Victoria pleaded with J.T. to allow her to take him to a doctor. In response, J.T. picked up the fireplace poker and smashed everything around the fireplace with it and damaged the gas line. J.T. fell unconscious from a combination of gas fumes and head pain. The ladies were coughing from the gas fumes and yelled for J.T. to wake up.
